Rev. Richard F. Norris II is the husband of Mrs. Patricia Wilkie Norris, the father of 3 children—Jasmine, Richard III and TaNia—and the grandfather of two granddaughters, Alani & Cai. He is the eldest son born to Bishop Richard F. & the Late Mother Mary Ann Norris.
As a pastor, he leads with integrity, humility, and an unwavering commitment to both the Word and Will of God. While the success of the church and its members is important to him, so is the success of the community. With God’s guidance, Rev. Norris works to unify the church and surrounding community so that Bethel-Hosanna may be a beacon of God’s light and love. He has opened the church to meetings with community leaders, established a partnership with Pennsauken High School, and set plans in motion for the building of a community center and affordable senior housing in Pennsauken Township and the Dudley section of East Camden, NJ
Before accepting his calling to preach, Rev. Norris used his gift of music to minister to God’s people. In 1994, he founded the AME Youth Mass Choir, which ministered throughout the Northeast for over 7 years. He has also served in the music ministries of several churches throughout the greater Philadelphia area, and even performed with the Grammy-Award Nominated Gabriel Hardeman Delegation. Currently, Rev. Norris is the Director of the AME Mass Choir of Philadelphia. He has released three instrumental CDs of his own, and is currently working a fourth “Hymns, Anthems & Spirituals.”
Rev. Norris is also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. serving as Chaplin for the Mu Omega Chapter in Philadelphia, PA, and a member of Bethel Lodge #47.
