All Candidates for Baptism (or the parents/gaurdians of infants/children) are required to attend this session to prepare for baptism this Sunday at Morning Worship.
By the end of the session, participants should be able to:
- Explain from Scripture what baptism is and why the Church baptizes infants as well as believing adults.
- State what the AME Church teaches about baptism, citing Articles XVI and XVII of the Articles of Religion.
- Describe accurately what Christian baptism and Catholic christening share and where they differ.
- Say what vows they will take on the day and what the church expects of them afterward.
